As your instructor, I want you to get the most out of this lab experience. I will be available every lab period to do problems from your large lecture section. This section will be your only opportunity to get help on solving problems, so plan on staying the whole period. Come prepared for the experiments and have some questions about your homework. I am here to help you succeed.

Make-up Policy: If you cannot attend a lab for any reason, please tell me or email me before the lab begins and I will allow you to attend one of the other lab sections that week.  Your lowest lab experiment write-up will be dropped.

 

Quizzes: There will be a midterm and a final, each are worth 20 points.  The midterm will be given at the beginning of lab number 8 and cover the material of labs 1-7, and the final will be given at the beginning of the last lab and cover the material of labs 1-13.

 

Experiment Write-up Format: Each student will turn in a separate experiment write-up. Each write-up is worth 15 points. Use the following format:

 

Title and Purpose (1 point), Data collection tables (2 points), Data analysis (2 points), Answers to questions (4 points), and a Conclusion (4 points). Experiment write-ups should be neat and data should have the right amount of significant figures and units (2 points).

Attendance and Participation---5 points each week (no drops)

14 Experiments---15 points each (drop one)

1 Midterm Quiz---20 points

1 Final Quiz---20 points
